The 20th China Culture Industry New Year Forum 2023 was officially held

Anchor point January 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m., the 20th China Culture Industry New Year Forum was officially opened, and the main forum was held in the online venue.

The main forum kicked off with the 20th anniversary commemorative movie of the forum's founding, "Twenty Years of Beginning Mind Continuing in Mind". Prof. Xiang Yong, Director of Peking University Cultural Industry Research Institute, as the chairman of the agenda, introduced the guests and organizations attending the forum, and invited Mr. Sun Qingwei, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Peking University and Vice President of Peking University, to give a speech for the forum.

Sun Qingwei extended a warm welcome to the guests attending the forum. He mentioned that the report of the 20th Party Congress put forward the strategic goal of promoting cultural self-confidence and self-improvement, and forging a new splendor of socialist culture, which elevated the epochal mission of socialist cultural construction to a new historical height. Sun Qingwei expects all the experts and scholars to take the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress as a guide, draw the source of wisdom for the construction of a strong cultural country, expand their innovative ideas, and provide more insights for writing the cultural scroll of Chinese-style modernization.

After the opening ceremony, seven guests from home and abroad conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development pattern, city construction, emerging industry, cultural self-confidence, creative IP creation and ecosystem construction in the process of high-quality development of cultural industry.

Liu Yuzhu, Chairman of China Heritage Fund and former Director of State Administration of Cultural Heritage, spoke on the topic of "Reflections on Building a New Pattern for the Development of Cultural Industry", and sorted out the five principles of building a new pattern for cultural industry from the perspectives of active government guidance and effective market demand.

Li Fengliang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair Professor of Southern University of Science and Technology, and Director of the Institute of Global City Civilization Model, combined the relationship between urbanization and Chinese-style modernization to emphasize the enhancement of innovation, leadership, dissemination, penetration and synergy, and the creation of a distinctive city that serves as a model for civilized cities.

Miao Muyang, Director of the Department of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, combined with the report of the 20th Party Congress, emphasized that the culture and tourism industry should focus on "enriching both pockets and brains", and pointed out the next work focus of the Department of Industry of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which provided important means and implementation paths for the high-quality development of the culture industry.

Chen Shaofeng, director of the Academic Committee of Cultural Industry Research Institute of Peking University, sorted out the three historical stages of the development of cultural industry, from media-type cultural industry, Internet-type cultural industry to meta-universe cultural industry. He suggested that the most typical mode of meta-universe culture industry is "spiritual realm".

Mr. Li Xiangmin, Vice President of Nanjing Arts Institute and President of Zijin Cultural and Creative Research Institute, started from the social changes of modernization initiated by the Industrial Revolution, and based on rich historical facts and thoughts of sages, he elaborated on the knowledge of Western modernization mode, and emphasized that Chinese modernization is a significant practice and full manifestation of cultural self-confidence.

Zhou Shuying, Chief Consumer Operation Officer of Bubble Mart, carefully sorted out the development history and essential characteristics of trendy toys, especially emphasized the influence of the awakening of aesthetic consciousness, IP value consensus and cultural identity on the consumption of trendy toys, and shared Bubble Mart's practical experience of the operation of the whole industry chain integrated platform.

The English speech of Mr. Xia Zeihan, Director of the UNESCO Representative Office in China, was closely centered on the value of culture as an internal driving force for sustainable development. He pointed out that cultural empowerment for sustainable development is vividly manifested in many fields and emphasized the importance of building an overall cultural ecosystem.

The main forum was broadcast live on official platforms such as Peking University's WeChat video number, Weibo, B-station, Shutterbug, Jitterbug, New Yellow River Client, Baike and NetEase, reaching 1,255,000 viewers according to incomplete statistics alone, and the interaction in the comment section was very enthusiastic, which made a good dissemination effect.

The 20th China Cultural Industry New Year Forum 2023 is hosted by Peking University, jointly organized by Peking University School of Art and Peking University Cultural Industry Research Institute, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Haidian District Committee of Beijing Municipality, the Beijing Haidian District Cultural Development Promotion Center, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Cultural and Creative Design Manufacturing of the China Academy of Art, the Zijin Institute of Cultural and Creative Research of the Nanjing University of the Arts, the China Cultural Industry Management Professional Committee, the International Cultural and Creative Industries Association, and Peking University Entrepreneurship Training Camp.
